KraussMaffei Group is offering larger sizes of its hydraulic GX injection molding machines, which now come in clamping forces from 400-1,100 metric tons.
At K 2019 show, KM will launch the biggest one, the two-platen GX 1100.
“We see great opportunities particularly in the areas of packaging and logistics,” said Hans-Ulrich Golz, president of KraussMaffei’s injection molding machinery segment. The machine will mold 20-liter polypropylene buckets in a two-cavity mold with in-mold labeling, on a 14-second cycle. at the show in Düsseldorf, Germany.
The available high-speed option can inject up to 700 millimeters per second, and make fast clamping movements.
The GX 1100 at the K show is the first KraussMaffei injection molding machine with a Netstal Smart Operation control option, which allows for a separation between the application development and later operation of the press in full production.
In other K show news, KraussMaffei’s extrusion division will again show the ZE BluePower series of twin-screw extruders. Four new sizes, with throughput rates of 5,500 pounds an hour and more, will be available after the show.
“The new series is designed for large national and international compounding companies with high production capacities where maximum reliability in 24/7 operation is a must,” said Matt Sieverding, president of KM’s extrusion technology segment.
KraussMaffei is based in Munich.
