Bad Oeynhausen, Germany — The uniEX single screw extruder series from Battenfeld-Cincinnati Germany GmbH is now available for sheet and board extrusion.
The uniEX series offers a wide process and application window with the ability to handle a variety of materials thanks to specific screw geometries.
The series has a compact design and high throughputs with gentle melt treatment that make the machines ideal co-extruder models for multilayer sheet, mono-material sheet with a slightly modified covering layer, or ecological alternatives with a middle layer consisting of regrind.
A modular design makes for a smaller footprint as well as shorter melt channels, which improves purging time and material consumption.
The new process options for sheet and board extrusion lines come in three sizes -- 35, 45 and 60 millimeters -- with output rates range from 50 kilograms per hour to 500kg/h, depending on the material.
The modularity of the extruders enables them to perform virtually any type of special processing task. A wide range of different plasticizing units is available, including a choice of grooved or smooth feed zones, and the extruders can be easily fit with a degassing unit for ABS processing.
For mechanical engineering options, screw extraction to the rear, a gearless drive via torque motor and flexible positioning of the control cabinet are available.
