Lossburg, Germany — Arburg GmbH says it reduced the footprint and investment cost of the hydraulic Allrounder 270 S compact, which is also its first injection molding machine that can be configured online through a customer portal and ordered directly with short delivery times.
The compact Allrounder costs 25 percent less than standard hydraulic machines while its size has been reduced about 20 percent, according to an Arburg news release.
The company says the machine offers more configuration options and an expanded range of applications, making it suitable for plastics processors with limited space or plans to replace small machines.
Arburg serves customers in the automotive, packaging, medical, communication, entertainment electronics and white goods markets.
The Allrounder 270 S compact has 35 metric tonnes of clamping force and a size 100 injection unit, which is now available with a parting line unit. Arburg says by repositioning the injection unit, it can also be used to vertically inject in the mold parting line, enabling a wider range of molds and processes.
To handle a wider range of materials, Arburg says it is making highly wear-resistant chrome nitride-coated cylinder modules an option.
The machine also can be equipped with an Integralpicker V.
