Schenck Process Holding LLC rolled out its ProFlex C 100 feeder system at K 2019, the newest, smallest addition to the ProFlex family.
ProFlex C100 fits on small extruders. Up to give feeders can e grouped around an inlet of a lab or small size extruder.
The ProFlex line comes with a quick-change hopper the eliminates the need for disassemble the feed screw. By keeping several hoppers, including the screw, in stock, a wide range of additives and color pigments can be provided, making the system very flexible, according to Schenck, based in Darmstadt, Germany. The asymmetric design prevents bridging and plugging of stick material.
The C100 is NEMA drive ready for compounding and masterbatch production, important for the U.S. market, the company said.
In other news, Schenck completed its Simplex Flat bottom (FB) family of feeders with the Simplex FB 650 feeder, for plastic flakes, cellulose, hemp, glass or carbon fibers and other virgin or recycling materials for film or compounding applications. The modular loss-in-weight feeder is optimized for light, fluffy materials.
Schenck also offers E-Finity a patented, continuous dense phase conveying system for fragile materials. It gently induces materials through the convey line in slug form.
