Sidel Group has introduced X-Lite Still for a 500-milliliter PET bottle for still water — and Sidel officials claim it’s the world’s lightest bottle at the highest production speed.
The bottle weighs just 6.5 grams and is 195 millimeters high and has a very light neck finish.
Sidel said significant energy savings are available through a reduction in blowing pressure and heating power. Sidel X-Lite integrated the proven base of the StarLite Still.
In other news, Sidel has joined Ellen MacArthur’s New Plastics Economy Global Commitment, addressing the plastic waste and pollution crisis at its source and creating a circular economy.
