Elk Grove Village, Ill. — About 20,000 robots are already work in the plastics and chemical products industries and their ranks are growing during the pandemic, according to TMI Robotics, which is offering free consultations to help businesses determine the best approach to automation.
From medical supplies to food packaging, plastics processors have been essential manufacturers increasing output during the pandemic.
Going forward, TMI officials said investing in robots, which increases operational efficiency and reduces overhead, will be key for manufacturers to grow during the ongoing challenges of COVID-19.
To support plastic manufacturers through their investments, TM Robotics' automation experts will offer video conference consultations.
"Manufacturers in the plastic industry are experiencing unique challenges," TMI Robotics President and CEO Nigel Smith said in a news release. "Some are frantically searching for ways to diversify, while others have dramatically increased or decreased output and have been forced to rethink their production methods. Naturally, different challenges require different approaches."
