Agru America Inc. is expanding again, this time through a $7.8 million project that will create six new jobs in Andrews, S.C.
The new project includes installation of new machinery and equipment, the company said.
Agru America is a subsidiary of Agru Kuntstofftechnick GmbH of Austria and has four locations is South Carolina.
Agru makes geosynthetics, concrete protective liners, pipes and fittings. Its products are sold in more than 100 countries.
"Agru America has been in South Carolina since 1996. Since then, we've expanded multiple times across Williamsburg, Georgetown and Charleston counties. South Carolina has provided us with an excellent business environment for nearly three decades, and we are thrilled by the ongoing support we have received from state and local officials. Our latest expansion will help ensure we continue meeting the demand for our products and solutions," Agru America President and CEO Robert Johnson in a statement.
Agru America, on the company's website, calls itself "the only U.S. manufacturer using the flat die calendered extrusion process to produce high density polyethylene and linear low density PE geomembranes."
