Alro Plastics, a machining and distribution firm, is buying an Indiana thermoformer and distributor of sheet and engineering plastics.
Alro said in a Dec. 20 news release that it had acquired Johnson Plastics & Supply Co. Inc. in Evansville. Terms were not disclosed.
"This asset purchase will allow Alro to grow our customer base while providing improved service for cut-to-size plastic and machined parts," the company said. "Johnson Plastics customers will now have access to Alro Plastics vast inventory of general engineering and high-performance rod, tube, plate, sheet, and profiles."
Johnson Plastics was founded in 1995, and provides custom plastics fabrication and vacuum forming, as well as distributing sheet and engineering plastics, plastic films, packaging products and industrial supplies
Alro is a unit of Alro Steel Corp. of Jackson, Mich., and was formed in 1987.
Alro Plastics said in October it had moved into a new 70,000-square-foot facility in Grand Rapids, Mich., and in 2020 doubled the size of its Louisville, Ky., operations with a 50,000 square foot warehouse and facility. It also has locations in Chicago, Clearwater, Fla., and Madison Heights, Mich.
