Arterex Medical Device Inc. is adding two manufacturing facilities in Bangalore, India, through the acquisition of Adroit USA Inc.
Adroit USA, which also operates what is called an engineering applications development laboratory in Milpitas, Calif., "specializes in high-precision injection-molded plastic components, precision stainless steel and nitinol components, and fully assembled and packaged medical devices," Arterex said Feb. 5 in announcing the deal.
"Through this integration, we are able to provide a breadth of new manufacturing, metal fabrication, and machining capabilities, as well as leverage best-in-class technologies to expand our solution offerings," Arterex CEO Jeffery Goble said in a statement. "These enhanced manufacturing capabilities position us to serve customers in every corner of the globe, from the US to Europe and now Asia."
Adroit USA was founded in 2003 in Pleasanton, Calif.
"Our cutting-edge capabilities complement Arterex's already impressive portfolio, providing added value to customers around the globe," Adroit USA CEO Ratan Bajaj said in a statement.
Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Arterex, with the acquisition, now has 11 manufacturing sites on four continents with more than 2,000 employees. The company said it provides "design, development, engineering, compounding, extrusion, injection molding, tooling and mold builds, and advanced assembly."
The Adroit USA move comes just two weeks after the acquisition of Phoenix srl, a medical device manufacturer located near Modena, Italy. And it was in during the fourth quarter of 2023 that Arterex purchased Micromold Inc. of Riverside, Calif., and moved that company's equipment to an existing Arterex site in Tecate, Mexico.
Arterex is owned by London-based investment firm Investindustrial as a platform in the medical device industry. The company started in 2022 through the acquisition of Formula Plastics Inc., Kabo srl, Luc & Bel srl and Modenplast srl. A June 2023 deal added NextPhase Medical Devices LLC.
