Todd Glogovsky has been named president and chief operating officer of leading compounder Asahi Kasei Plastics North America Inc.
Glogovsky has been with Fowlerville, Mich.-based Asahi Kasei since 2017, most recently serving as executive vice president of sales and technology. He has more than 30 years of plastics experience overall, including 21 years at materials maker LyondellBasell Industries.
"In Todd's four years with the company, he has made a significant impact on our business strategy and product growth," Asahi Kasei Senior Executive Officer John Moyer said in a news release.
Moyer added that Glogovsky's background and experience "is an asset to our entire organization."
"He has proven himself as an effective leader who prioritizes both internal and external relationships," Moyer said.
Glogovsky said in the release that he's "honored to lead this incredible organization."
"I truly believe [Asahi Kasei] has some of the most talented individuals, as well as a strong business model," he added. "I look forward to strengthening our foundation, including establishing more sustainable efforts, as we continue our efforts on being the world's top compounder."
Glogovsky is replacing Ramesh Iyer, who is leaving Asahi Kasei to pursue other business opportunities. Iyer had been with Asahi Kasei since 2005. He became COO in 2015 and added the president role in 2018.
Asahi Kasei is one of North America's 30 largest compounders, employing more than 400 at three production sites. Most of the firm's compounds are based on polypropylene and are sold into the automotive market. Asahi Kasei also makes compounds based on nylons, acetal and other specialty materials. The business is a unit of industrial conglomerate Asahi Kasei Corp. of Tokyo.
