An Israel-based company specializing in quality inspections for automated production lines is eyeing the Detroit area for a new U.S. headquarters.
Inspekto, an Israeli and German firm is still in the midst of searching for office and assembly space, Inspekto Vice President of Sales and Projects Zohar Kantor said.
"For Inspekto — our U.S. partners and customers come first, and foremost," Kantor told Crain's Detroit Business in an email March 5. "And all of them are, without exception, are at the very top of U.S. industrial manufacturing. From this unequivocal objective, the way was short to arrive at the unequivocal conclusion: Inspekto will place its U.S. headquarters where it means the most — in Detroit."
In marketing materials supplied to Crain's, the company touts automotive sector clients including Faurecia, Bosch and BMW. Crain's Detroit Business is a sister publication of Plastics News.
Kantor said the company, based in Giv'atayim, Israel, is in the process of getting staff hired in a variety of roles, including sales, business development and engineering. The company has already hired its first U.S. employee, according to Kantor.
