B A Die Mold Inc. is observing its 55th anniversary this year.
The Aurora, Ill.-based company makes molds for customers in the water filtration, health care, appliance controls, caps and closures, and housewares businesses, as well as molders manufacturing automotive electrical components.
BA Die Mold mainly makes plastic injection molds, but also does work for compression and metal injection molders.
The company, co-owned by CEO and founder Alan Petrucci and his daughter, President Francine Petrucci, is known for handling complex molding projects, including metal-to-plastic part conversion.
It also performs rapid prototyping and short-run molding at its 16,000-square-foot plant, which it built in 2001.
One of the company's unique offerings is its patented system known as PERC, which stands for programmable electric rotating core. PERC can replace hydraulic systems used to unscrew molds.
BA Die Mold employs 24 and said it currently is looking to hire apprentices and computer numerical control hard-milling specialists.
