Bamberger Polymers is distributing polyolefins and engineering resins in the Americas for Saudi Basic Industries Corp.
In a news release, officials with Sabic in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, said that the collaboration "will further expand Sabic's market presence for these products and utilize Bamberger's successful marketing and distribution network."
Bamberger began its distribution efforts for Sabic in the fourth quarter of 2021.
Olga Sessions, Sabic Americas polymer sales director, added that the agreement "is a win for our customers, as Bamberger offers a broad, established sales network in the Americas combined with outstanding service capabilities and technical support."
For Jericho, N.Y.-based Bamberger, President and CEO Dennis Don said that the program will bring on many new opportunities for both Bamberger and Sabic.
"Adding the Sabic product portfolio to our offering will broaden our reach into the market to help us expand our relationships with current customers and build new customer relationships," he added.
Sabic is a global petrochemicals firm that ranks as a major producer of polyethylene, polypropylene and specialty resins and compounds. The firm employs 33,000 and posted sales of $31.2 billion in 2020.
Sabic has a U.S. headquarters in Houston. State-owned energy firm Saudi Aramco is the firm's majority owner.
Bamberger distributes more than 1 billion pounds of commodity and engineering resins annually to customers worldwide. In November, the firm acquired Kolm Polymers Ltd., a specialty resins distributor in The Woodlands, Texas.
Bamberger also is one of three distribution firms that will distribute PE resin made at Shell Polymers' new production site in Monaca, Pa. That site, with more than 3 billion pounds of annual PE production capacity, is expected to begin commercial operations in the first quarter of 2022.
