Bay City, Mich. — Bay Plastics Machinery (W5770) will demonstrate a new pelletizer designed for pharmaceutical applications and a new feed roll material for strand pelletizing at NPE2024.
Its new PH25 pelletizer is built with 316 stainless steel at all material contact points to comply with pharmaceutical regulations, and most of its cutting chamber parts are easily removable for cleaning and, if required, sterilization in an autoclave. The PH25 offers a wider process window and enhanced control thanks to servo motors that are standard for feed roll and rotor drive, according to a news release.
Also, Bay City-based BPM has a new coating called InduraMaxx that is a proprietary feed roll material for resin manufacturing. The release said it can handle various plastic compounds flawlessly regardless of whether the material is standard, filled resin or colored. InduraMaxx has superior wear properties, high-heat capability (176° C/350° F), and technology to improve feed control and a uniform strand cut.
Processors can choose durometer 65 Shore A and 90 Shore A to handle a range of plastic materials from soft and flexible to tough and rigid. BPM offers one-week turnaround time from order receipt.
BPM also plans several demonstrations to showcase its portfolio, including a die-wipe demo stand; a straw cutter machine that reduces straws to smaller pieces for recycling; the AXM12 large micropelletizer; a water slide line; the EVAK-06 and EVAK-12 mid-to-large dewatering machines; the WBX1008-10 mid-to-large water bath for cooling; and the WBX0606-6 small-water bath.
In addition, BPM will spotlight the BT25X small lab machine, the BP50 midsize machine for light production and lab, and the ZE100 midsize production machine.
