Oberengstringen, Switzerland — Robobeck Unipessoal LDA will move early next year to a 30,000-square foot factory with space for more than 60 employees that is under construction in Barcelos, Portugal.
The business is a sister company of Oberengstringen-based Beck Automation AG, which manufacturers automated equipment for in-mold labeling for injection molding applications.
Founded in 1934, Beck Automation is focused on the decoration and labeling of lids, tubs, trays and buckets for food and non-food applications.
Beck Automation, which is in its third generation of family owners, has had a presence in Portugal since 2016, when it opened a manufacturing plant for better access to Europe and South America.
The owners and local officials recently laid the foundation stone for the new facility.
CEO Nicolas Beck said the investment reinforces the company's commitment to Portugal as it expands its global service footprint.
The move-in date for the new facility is set for Spring 2021.
