This story is from 2019, here's our latest story on the maker of extrusion blow molding machinery Bekum America.
Bekum America Corp. is growing at its Williamston, Mich., headquarters as the company celebrates 40 years in business.
The German maker of extrusion blow molding machinery is adding 40,000 square feet of manufacturing space and 7,400 square feet of office space to the existing 115,000-square-foot facility. Once completed, Bekum said it will be able to bulk up its workforce with an additional 20 jobs, bringing the total employee count from 130 to 150 workers.
Bekum broke ground Nov. 27 at the Williamston headquarters, where it also kicked off a 40th anniversary celebration with employees, company leadership and community leaders.
"The groundbreaking on our new facility was a great kickoff to our 40th anniversary celebration with our dedicated employees," said Steve London, president and chief operating officer of Bekum America, the U.S. operation of German parent company Bekum Maschinenfabriken GmbH. "The Bekum team has continually been providing state-of-the-art products for our clients, and this event is the perfect opportunity to celebrate all the individuals who complete Bekum."
