Berlin Packaging is acquiring Andler Packaging Group, in a deal that boosts the company's packaging distribution in New England.
Everett, Mass.-based Andler has locations in Massachusetts, New Jersey, Maryland and Florida and is described by Berlin as being "one of the largest packaging suppliers in the United States."
"Andler Packaging serves a variety of markets, with expertise in the rapidly growing pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries. The company also offers its customers value-added services, including proprietary custom tools, printing and labeling capabilities, and repacking and sterilization services," Berlin said in a statement.
Andler Packaging was formed in 1893 by Israel Andler as a glass bottle recycler and has been a family business for four generations.
"We have a longstanding relationship with Berlin Packaging, not only as a competitor but also as a customer and supplier," Managing Director Sam Andler said in a statement.
Andler distributes a wide variety of packaging, including plastic jars, pails, bottles, labels, bags, pouches, films closures, sprayers, pumps and dispensing systems.
G2 Capital Advisors LLC helped Andler through the sale process after the company was repeatedly approached about the potential for a sale.
"All employees and locations for this acquisition will be retained," Berlin said in a statement.
Along with its headquarters site, Andler lists on its website locations in Springfield, Mass., Egg Harbor Township, N.J., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Baltimore.
