Denver-based Intertech Plastics Inc. was founded on giving back to the community, and it continues to live through that value today by supporting employees and the communities in which they live.
The injection molder for the medical and consumer industries sponsors Habitat for Humanity, Career Exploration Days and food drives. Its employees also give back, from coaching sports teams to holding board positions at nonprofit organizations.
Intertech gives to its own employees by handing out gift cards for Thanksgiving. The company also sends flowers or edible gifts when an employee's relative passes away.
The company said it is committed to "creating growth opportunities" for its employees.
"Its nationally recognized apprenticeship program, Careerwise, as well as tuition reimbursement and training programs contribute to building career paths," Intertech said in its Best Places to Work questionnaire.
Barbecues, catered holiday meals, bonuses, and birthday and thank-you cards are the norm at Intertech. Team members are recognized during the Employee of the Quarter awards in categories for Innovation, Going Above and Beyond, Positive Attitude and Exemplifying Company Values.
Intertech said it matches 50 percent of retirement contributions, up to 6 percent of the employee's salary.
"Our success is a result of our people," Intertech said in its survey. "The team succeeds through collaboration, alignment and mutual respect. It is their hard work, ingenuity and teamwork that deliver high-quality, on-time products to our customers."
Intertech was also named the 2019 Plastics News Processor of the Year.
