Dymotek Corp., based in Ellington, Conn., demonstrates a fun, family environment not only during work hours but also outside of work. Management and employees participate in company picnics, holiday training and other get-togethers.
"Dymotek has a family environment that is rare in most companies. Our employees genuinely care about each other and want to help in any way possible," the company said in its Plastics News Best Places to Work questionnaire. "Dymotek strives to maintain a fun workplace."
The injection and silicone molding company celebrates holidays with its employees and has contests, giveaways, surprise breakfasts, potluck lunches and barbecues.
For holidays, birthdays and anniversaries, Dymotek employees receive personalized greeting cards from management.
"We also promote wellness in the workplace, which gives our employees intangible benefits," the company said.
In January, workers participate in wellness bingo to promote their health in the new year. There's a garden on the property, and employees can take advantage of the fresh produce.
Team members can dress down on Fridays. For Halloween, there's a costume contest.
The company even came up with its own word that captures its values and standards: Dymotegrity.
"Dymotek wouldn't be a best place to work without our engaged associates and the culture they create in our business," the company said. "We work very hard on every relationship cementing the Dymotegrity within associates, customers and suppliers."
Dymotek was named the 2016 Plastics News Processor of the Year and made the Best Places to Work lists every year since 2016.
