Blachford Acoustics Group has purchased Wisconsin-based foam, rubber and plastic fabricator Milcut Inc.
"This strategic acquisition gives us world-class fabrication to complement world-class materials, which ultimately adds tremendous value to our customers," Mike Pellegrini, vice president of sales and marketing at Blachford Acoustics said in an emailed statement to Plastics News. The sale was completed March 7.
Blachford plans to keep all of Milcut's employees where they will continue to manufacture products in Menomonee Falls, Wisc., keeping the name Milcut.
Milcut's current president, Carl Strohmaier, will stay on board full time through the end of April and will then transition to a consultant role, John Quaglia, marketing coordinator at Blachford, told PN.
Milcut employees will then report to Matthew Taub, Blachford Acoustics Group president and chief operating officer, Quaglia said.
Blachford declined to comment on the financial terms of the acquisition.
Blachford will now be able to offer all of its current solutions and fabricated products made by Milcut, the release said. Milcut will now have access to Blachford Acoustics Group's R&D laboratory and testing facilities, which feature a hemi-anechoic chamber equipped with a heavy-duty dynamometer, a reverberation room and a complete chemical and materials lab.
Blachford Acoustics Group makes acoustic materials, molded headliners and floor mats for heavy trucks, off-highway and other industrial OEMs.
Milcut Inc. carries open-cell foam, closed-cell foam, sheet rubber, masticated rubber, polyethylene, ABS, high density and low density polyethylene, polypropylene and more.
