Austrian polyolefin supplier Borealis AG has declared force majeures in two production sites in Kallo, Belgium and Burghausen, Germany.
On Sept. 2, the company declared force majeure on refinery grade propylene and propane from its production site in Kallo, Belgium, as a consequence of “unforeseen technical issues”, Borealis said in a written statement to PNE.
In addition, the company’s operations in Burghausen, Germany experienced “an incident” due to a disruption in monomer supply from the nearby OMV cracker on Aug. 24.
As a result, the Vienna-based materials supplier declared a force majeure on all of its Burghausen production on 2 Sept, the Borealis statement added.
Borealis produces polypropylene at the Burghausen site.
The company said it was not clear when the FMs would be lifted, adding that affected customers had been informed accordingly.
