Niagara Bottling LLC is planning yet another bottled water plant, this time near Baltimore.
The new location, a 600,000-square-foot location at the Tradepoint Atlantic logistics center, is expected to be open by next spring and employ more than 90 people over time.
"Niagara Bottling has established strong business and community relationships throughout our numerous plant locations and we look forward to continued growth and success at our new production facility in Baltimore County," said Brian Hess, executive vice president at Niagara Bottling, in a statement.
Niagara, based in Diamond Bar, Calif., has built a network of plants throughout the country in recent years thanks to the explosive growth in bottled water. The company makes private label products for many retailers and uses its own brand name.
"With its combination of access to highways, rail lines, and the Port of Baltimore, this global logistics center has everything Niagara needs to expand in the mid-Atlantic and reach customers quickly and efficiently across the U.S.," Maryland Commerce Secretary Mike Gill said in a statement.
It was less than a month ago that plans for Niagara a bottled water plant in Opelika, Ala., were revealed by state officials there.
That new location will be in the Northeast Opelika Industrial Park along Interstate 85 and initially create 50 jobs.
Tradepoint Atlantic is a 3,300-acre location in Sparrows Point, Baltimore County, southeast of Baltimore.
