Dr. Boy GmbH & Co. KG is modifying its largest vertical injection molding machine to increase the clamping force by 50 kilonewtons to 600 kN by the end of this year.
The Boy 60 EVV, an insert molding machine with an injection unit of SP215, will be the first available followed by smaller injection units of SP56, SP69 and SP82.
Overmolding of insert components of different sizes is possible with eight different screw diameters.
In addition to the increased clamping force, the four-tie bar Boy 60 EVV, particularly with the fixed lower plate, features access to the mold from all four sides, compact dimensions and space on the rear machine frame for peripheral devices and accessory equipment. This provides a wide range of integration options for automation devices.
An energy-efficient servo drive and the Procan Alpha control are standards of the Boy 60 E VV. An energy-efficient plasticizing unit called Boy-EconPlast is available as an option starting from a screw diameter of 18 millimeters.
Boy manufactures injection molding machines with clamping forces up to 1,250 kN.
