Rochester, N.Y.-based injection molder Century Mold Co. Inc. has acquired Integrity Injection Molding, the molding division of Integrity Tool & Mold, "in response to rising North America demand" for its capabilities.
"The current management and employee base of IIM have been transferred to Century Mold," Elizabeth Blake, chief commercial officer at Century Mold, told Plastics News. "Plans to integrate the IIM direct workforce are being reviewed with local county and state economic development entities. … The experienced workforce is one of the reasons IIM was so attractive to CM."
The deal includes Pulaski, Tenn.-based IIM's 75,000-square-foot facility, with up to 3,000-ton press capacity, according to an April 11 news release.
"Integrating IIM into CM will provide a significant … scale enhancement," Blake said. "Furthermore, it will allow CM to load-level its capacity between its two Tennessee facilities. … The acquisition provides a significant step in diversifying [our] customer and industry portfolio."
Integrity Tool & Mold of Oldcastle, Ontario, expanded into molding from its business base of toolmaking in 2019 with the launch of IIM.
"Integrating into Century Mold represents a new opportunity for Integrity Injection Molding team," Scott Rowdon, general manager of IIM, said in the release. "This move allows us to leverage Century Mold's resources and expertise to better serve our customers and achieve our goals in the injection molding sector."
"The facility's modern infrastructure, skilled team, and significant expansion potential aligns with CM's strategic growth objectives including expanded capacity in the southeast, operational efficiency, and business segment diversification," the release said.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
"The integration of IIM into Century Mold marks an important step in our expansion strategy," John Pinson, CEO of Century Mold, said in the release. "The newly acquired facility will focus on increasing regional demand for high tonnage molding programs, allowing our existing Shelbyville, Tenn., facility to focus on precision molding work under 1,000 tons."
The acquisition complements the recent expansion of CM's Middletown, Ohio facility, the release said.
Century Mold has seven locations across the U.S. and Mexico. CM injection molds products for the automotive, military, industrial and consumer markets. Integrity Injection Molding specializes in large tonnage injection molding.
