Mexico City — Coca-Cola bottlers and other associated companies will invest $14.8 million in Mexico this year to increase PET waste collection and recycling capacity.
In a May 18 news release, the group's 11 companies said they will add 15 PET collection facilities to their operations across Mexico in 2023. PetStar S.A.P.I. de CV, one of the group's two PET recycling companies, will run the plants.
Coca-Cola Co. has stated that it wants to collect and recycle every bottle and can it globally by 2030.
