Cornerstone Building Brands Inc. has acquired Eastern Architectural Systems (EAS), increasing the company's presence in the Florida region.
Cary, N.C.-based Cornerstone is the largest manufacturer of exterior building products in North America. Its plastics products include vinyl siding, windows, doors, fencing and railing.
EAS is headquartered in Fort Myers, Fla., and specializes in impact-resistant windows and doors.
The acquisition expands Cornerstone's impact-resistant products portfolio and its geographic reach. It also broadens the company's materials, products and brands.
"EAS is an excellent strategic fit ... and advances our strategy to increase exposure to high-growth regions with value-add products" said Rose Lee, president and CEO of Cornerstone Building Brands, in a news release.
"This acquisition complements our existing portfolio of impact-resistant products and enables a stronger presence in the rapidly growing Florida region."
Cornerstone is ranked No. 2 in Plastics News' North America ranking of pipe, profile, tubing extruders with estimated $3.42 billion in related sales.
