Authorities are investigating the accidental drowning death of a Pennsylvania man at a plastics recycling facility where he worked, although an investigation remains open.
The Northampton County Coroner's Office ruled Jeffrey Delp, 43, of Mount Bethel, Pa., accidentally drowned March 9 in a drainage basin at Ultra-Poly Corp. in Portland, Pa. The business is located in the Portland Industrial Park.
"The cause of death was determined to be drowning, and the matter of death is accident," the coroner's office said in a statement. "No further information will be released at this time."
On March 14, an Occupational Health and Safety Administration spokeswoman confirmed the agency has opened an investigation into Delp's death. OSHA has six months to complete its investigation.
