Dazpak Flexible Packaging is adding two Ohio operations in separate moves that will strengthen the firm's Midwest presence.
Dazpak, owned by H.I.G. Capital, has acquired both Atlapac Corp. of Columbus and the Inno-lok Division of Polymer Packaging in Massillon. "Polymer's assets will be merged with Atlapac post-close," Dazpak said.
"Atlapac and Polymer not only allow us to expand outside our core Western U.S. markets, but also significantly expand our customer footprint and portfolio of flexible packaging solutions," Dazpak CEO James Rooney said in a statement.
The two Ohio flexible packaging companies represent the third and fourth acquisitions for Dazpak under H.I.G. ownership since late 2020.
The acquisition not only allows Dazpak to move east, but also provides more business opportunities for Atlapac, President Paul Unrue said in a statement.
"The combination will allow us to provide a more comprehensive suite of flexible packaging solutions to our clients in the Midwest and West Coast," he said in a statement.
Atlapac, founded in 1985, was owned by the Staeck family.
