Pouch and rollstock manufacturer ePac Flexible Packaging LLC plans to open two more U.S. locations in early 2020, near Richmond, Va., and Philadelphia.
The company announced Feb. 4 that it will invest $6.5 million to establish a new facility in Henrico County, Va., near Richmond. That plant will open in April.
Meanwhile, this month the company is opening a new location in Philadelphia. The two plants join ePac's list of U.S. locations in Atlanta; Austin, Texas; Boston; Boulder, Colo.; Chicago; Los Angeles; Miami; and Madison, Wis.
The company also announced in December that more U.S. locations will open in the first half of 2020.
The company expanded internationally as it opened a United Kingdom plant in December, a Vancouver, British Columbia, plant in January, and it plans to enter the Asia-Pacific market in early 2020.
Established in 2016, ePac specializes in short- and medium-run quick-turn pouches and rollstock. Its plants use HP Indigo 20000 digital printing technology.
The Virginia plant will employ 35.
"Our customers are predominantly small- and medium-sized food manufacturers who value fast time to market and the ability to order to demand," Robert Laird, general manager of ePac Richmond, said in a news release.
