Doowon Climate Control America Inc., an auto parts supplier, will invest more than $30 million in a new manufacturing facility in Metter, Ga.
The new facility, which will include injection molding, will create 200 new jobs within six months.
"Doowon ... is making significant investments to establish itself as Doowon Group's inaugural automotive air conditioning system production facility in the United States," said Ki Chun Sung, CEO of Doowon Climate Control America, in a news release. "The company is optimistic that its technological expertise and industry experience will play a vital role in the growth of the local community."
The manufacturing facility will be in Metter-Chandler County I-16 Industrial Park. This will be the second automotive supplier to locate in Candler County in the last six months.
Doowon is headquartered in South Korea and specializes in air conditioning systems. The company made over $1.9 billion in sales during 2023 and has over 3,000 employees.
The company will be hiring employees from various fields such as assembly operators; quality materials and production specialist; injection molding technicians; and management.
