Automation Products Inc., a process measurement and control equipment manufacturer, says its Dynatrol-brand G series level switches were designed for special problem applications involving extremely light or fluffy products as well as heavier bulk solids that tend to pack or bridge easily.
The Dynatrol GJ level detector can be used with applications of plastic powders, pellets, flakes and regrind material that vary widely in bulk density and particle size while the Dynatrol GS and GSS level sensors work on fine powder and beads as light as a half-pound per cubic foot.
The company says the level switch installs easily and is mounted through a three-quarter inch, half-coupling at the point of desired detection.
Automation Products describes the basic principle of operation this was: "The uncovered paddle is free to vibrate, producing an output signal. This signal operates a relay indicating the paddle is uncovered, so a low level exists. When the paddle is covered a dampening of the oscillations occurs and the relay indicates that a high level exists."
Some Dynatrol level detectors have been in service for more than 25 years, the company adds.
