Furniture and bedding polyurethane foam manufacturer Elite Comfort Solutions LLC will open a new foam manufacturing plant in Havre de Grace, Md., its first in the state. It predicts the new foam pouring and fabrication facility will employ 225 people by 2025.
Economic development group Advantage Maryland is providing $900,000 toward the project and another $90,000 is being provided by Harford County.
This will be the eighth facility for Elite, which is based in Newnan, Ga. It also have manufacturing in Arkansas, North Carolina, Mississippi and California.
Elite was acquired by Leggett & Platt in 2019. Its polyurethane foam products include memory foam, temperature responsive foam and conventional comfort foams for bedding, furniture and other fabricated items.
