One person was injured and flown to a hospital in a Nov. 19 fire at an Indiana company that refurbishes plastics machinery.
Local media reports said the fire at Thomas Plastic Machinery Inc. in Scottsburg started just before 10 a.m.
Scottsburg Fire Chief James Richey said the employee was flown to a hospital 30 miles away in Louisville, Ky., with third degree burns on his arms and first and second degree burns around his face but was in stable condition.
A company spokeswoman said the employee was recovering in the hospital.
Both the company and local media said the cause of the fire was still being investigated.
Nine area fire departments were reportedly called to the scene and smoke from the blaze forced the temporary evacuation of nearby businesses and the Scott County Courthouse.
The company started in 1992 refurbishing used plastics machinery but the spokeswoman said plastics equipment is only a small part of its business today. Most of the company's business deals with rigging and construction equipment and overhead cranes, she said.
