The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating a Feb. 1 workplace death at InsulFab Plastics Inc. in Spartanburg, S.C.
Torrence Casey McSwain, 40, of Jonesville, S.C., was pronounced dead inside the plastics machining plant at about 12:30 p.m. in a "work-related" fatality, according to a statement from the Spartanburg County Coroner's Office.
McSwain died in an accident on fabricating machinery, according to a company spokesman.
The spokesman said the company was cooperating with OSHA but he declined additional comment, citing the ongoing investigation.
On its website, the company said it specializes in precision machining and stamping of engineering and high-performance plastics.
McSwain is survived by his wife, two children, siblings and other family members, according to an obituary from a local funeral home.
