Resin distribution firm Executive Polymer LLC opened its doors in June in Northborough, Mass.
Executive Polymer is owned and operated by Greg Bagnoli, who spent 10 years in distribution sales at medical compounder Foster Corp. in Putnam, Conn. In a recent phone interview, Bagnoli said he launched his own firm because he saw "a general need for more responsiveness" in the materials market.
"I think there's an opportunity to improve in that area," Bagnoli said, adding that he learned a lot from Foster CEO Larry Acquarulo.
Executive Polymer initially will do most of its business in engineering resins such as polycarbonate, nylon and polyolefin elastomers, Bagnoli said. The firm also can supply commodity resins such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polystyrene and ABS.
Imported materials are included in Executive Polymer's sales mix. The firm already is a licensed distributor of PS and ABS for Formosa Chemicals & Fibers and of polyolefin elastomers for LG Chemical.
End markets include consumer goods, electronics, building and construction, automotive, aerospace and energy. Bagnoli said that initial sales have been to injection molders and compounders. The firm also can provide value-added services such as repackaging, warehousing and supply chain management.
Executive Polymer currently employs four and operates a 20,000-square-foot warehouse in Northborough. Bagnoli said the firm's geographic focus is on the U.S. East Coast and Midwest.
