Fabricator ClickFold Plastics is investing $1.5 million for a new facility in South Carolina, a project which will see it create 21 new jobs.
The site in Lancaster County, S.C., is adjacent to Charlotte, N.C., where ClickFold opened in 2000 and specializes in protective enclosures, housings, covers and panels.
The South Carolina Department of Commerce said in a Sept. 16 news release that the site will cover 15,000 square feet for manufacturing to increase ClickFold's capacity.
"ClickFold Plastics' new facility will provide us with a much more conducive location and layout for our operation," Patrick Oltmanns, CEO and founder, said in the release. "We've experienced strong growth over the past 20 years, and the need for a new building had become paramount."
The new site will be located close to freeways and Charlotte's airport, Oltmanns said.
ClickFold says it has a proprietary process to fabricate panels such as medical equipment enclosures without a need for molds or tooling.
The new plant is expected to open in late 2021.
