An Aug. 18 fire destroyed a plastics plant operated by Harrison Manufacturing LLC in Jackson, Miss.
The fire started around 3 p.m. on Aug. 18, according to local media reports. One firefighter suffered minor injuries at the site.
Fire officials said they believe the fire started outside the building. Black smoke was visible at the site, according to media reports.
The 25,000-square-foot building later collapsed. One report said the fire was so hot that it melted cars in the firm's parking lot. Officials said they believe the building was unoccupied at the time.
Harrison Engineering does injection molding, assembly and stamping work for the automotive and consumer markets. Products made by the firm include interior trim and floor mats.
