A fire at a Contemporary Products of Texas Inc. rotational molding facility in Walburg, Texas, destroyed the building and caused a three-hour stay-at-home order in the county, officials say.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, Williamson County Fire Marshal Michael Wofford told Plastics News in an emailed statement.
"Due to the condition of the building, our investigation is going to continue into next week," Wofford said. "The fire is out, but there are still a few areas smoking that we are working to put out. ... In order to get a full scope and move in, special equipment will be needed to be able to move the pieces that fell."
The building's roof and walls collapsed, he said, and has been deemed a total loss.
The fire caused no injuries, Wofford added.
CPI did not immediately respond to questions from Plastics News. The company ranked No. 96 in the most recent PN survey of North American rotomolders, with estimated sales of $3 million.
