The leader of the Flexible Packaging Association is taking a new job at the International Sleep Products Association and the Mattress Recycling Council.
Alison Keane, who has served as CEO of the FPA for eight years, has been named president of ISPA and MRC. She succeeds Ryan Trainer, who is retiring.
Keane, an environmental attorney, has more than 25 years of experience with private companies, non-profit groups and government.
"Through her work on behalf of the paint and packaging industries, she is familiar with many of the same regulatory pressures we in the bedding industry face. Her expertise and innovative thinking have already benefited our industry, and I am confident that under her leadership, ISPA and MRC will continue to thrive," Trainer said in a statement.
Keane was still listed as CEO on the FPA website shortly after ISPA announced hiring her on June 6.
Annapolis, Md.-based FPA is a trade group representing U.S. manufacturers of flexible packaging as well as material or equipment suppliers to that industry. ISPA represents mattress manufacturers and suppliers.
A spokeswoman for FPA indicated June 6 the trade group has hired Vetted Solutions, an executive search firm, to help in the selection of a new CEO.
