Fluor Technik System GmbH, a company based in Lauterbach, Germany, that does fluorination of plastic products for barrier and surface modification, has been purchased by U.S.-based Inhance Technologies.
FTS, founded in 1992, is a fluorination provider in 20 countries. The company has customers in medical devices, consumer products, industrial filtration, aerospace, automation and other industries.
Terms of the deal, announced Oct. 16, were not disclosed.
Buying FTS brings Inhance strategic access in Europe, a broad range of fluorination capabilities, key local relationships and skilled employees. FTS has worked to create environmentally stable and recyclable solutions. The German company also has deep relationships with several European universities and research institutes.
Houston-based Inhance, which is owned U.S. private equity firm Aurora Capital Partners, has proprietary barrier technology to modify plastics to get higher performance, at 17 facilities throughout North America, South America, Europe and Australia.
Inhance's markets include crop protection, health care, consumer products, fuel systems, automotive and industrial products.
