This is not PolySource's first time being named a top workplace in the plastics industry; the resin distributor took the No. 1 spot in 2021, 2019 and 2017.
The Overland Park, Kan.-based company offers free lunch every day at the office, and employees take turns picking the restaurants. There's also a house in Florida that employees can use for vacations or team-building getaways. Or the puzzle table, where team members can walk away from work stress and collaborate to finish a puzzle.
The company also pays 100 percent of medical, dental and vision premiums, including a company-funded account for out-of-pocket health expenses, for employees and eligible family members and dependents — especially important in a time when medical costs are constantly increasing. PolySource allows for employees to donate $500 to the nonprofit of their choice, and they're encouraged to write a letter explaining why the organization is important to them.
"PolySource focuses on our employees, their work-life balance and remembers that we aren't the most important thing in their life," the company said. "They have family and friends to return home to. We believe in flexibility, supporting our team with the unknowns we encounter in life. We strive to create a culture that drives authentic engagement from the employee to the company and from the company to the employee."
