Just over two years after a blaze destroyed its production facilities in Saint Pal de Mons, in south-central France, Sigoplast has fully resumed manufacturing at the site.
The new plant covers an area of 5,000 square meters, at least 1,000 square meters larger than the previous facility, said flexible packaging machinery supplier Comexi which supplied the technology for the entire production portfolio.
In operation since October 2018, the facility has been progressively ramping up production since the beginning of the year, Comexi said in a 2 Dec statement.
“From Comexi we congratulate Sigoplast on the new facilities, and we hope that they will return to normal in terms of production as soon as possible,” said Olivier Gibert, the area manager in France.
Comexi supplied two flexo presses: a new Comexi F2 MC and a Comexi F2 MB to Sigoplast. In addition, the packaging firm has also invested in an integrating slitter Comexi S2 DT with 4 Laser for micro and macro perforations.
The Comexi machines offer technological advances such as quick start, instant setting, and high printing speed, enabling the printing of flexible packaging of up to 8 colors on polyethylene, polypropylene and other films.
