Knoxville, Tenn.-based Hardcoat Technologies LLC is investing $6.6 million to expand manufacturing operations with the acquisition of an additional existing building and construction of a new 23,500-square-foot facility.
The new operations in Knoxville will support the company's recent contract with SL Tennessee, an Oct. 21 news release said.
"Hardcoat Technologies has seen amazing growth in our business since our start in 2014," Nicholas Steffens, Hardcoat Technologies LLC president said in the release. "We look forward to the additional opportunities this building expansion will bring."
Hardcoat Technologies declined to comment further in response to inquiry by Plastics News.
When completed, the existing and new buildings will more than double Hardcoat Technologies' injection molding, warehousing and assembly capabilities, the release said.
The expansion will create 85 new jobs.
