At Hasco America Inc., a manufacturer of mold bases and other tooling parts based in Fletcher, N.C., the "we" is paramount.
"Hasco attaches great importance to a team spirit. We promote team-building through specific measures. … Regular team meetings are held in order to strengthen our cross-border cohesion and team spirit," according to Hasco.
Brenda Clark, engineering manager and inside sales at Hasco, said the culture is "very much like a family" and the team carries that same approach to its customers.
Employees are recognized for meeting sales goals and their years of service. Lunch is brought in throughout the year to celebrate.
The "we" extends to the greater community, too; corporate social responsibility is a core pillar to Hasco's culture. Hasco, with global headquarters in Germany, donated 10,000 euros ($10,800) in emergency humanitarian aid to Ukraine in March. It donated 10,000 euros when heavy rain and floods hit Germany in July 2021.
"With this donation, Hasco wishes to underline once again its position when it comes to social responsibility. It also wants to express its sympathy with all those affected by the tragedy and demonstrate its high regard for the emergency and support services," the company said in a July 2021 news release.
The company regularly works with ShelterBox, an international organization that provides shelter and other lifesaving essentials, such as tents, blankets and water filters, in times of need, Clark said. Locally, employees attend school and church fundraisers and blood drives.
"Every level of the workforce is important to get the goal accomplished," the company said in its Best Places to Work submission. "We are free to make our own decisions to get the jobs done, so in the end the customers are happy as well. Happy customers make the workday go by better, and we are proud to work here."
