Hot runner manufacturer Incoe Corp. has purchased and is renovating a 63,400-square-foot building in Shanghai for its new Asia headquarters. The location includes 42 percent more manufacturing space than its existing building there.
The Auburn Hills, Mich.-based company announced the news Sept. 5.
The building also has three floors of office space.
"Our continued growth in the Asia market made it necessary that we secure additional manufacturing floorspace. The new factory will allow us to expand production as needed," said Ho Chee Kiang, general manager of Incoe's Asia operations.
The two factories in Shanghai will consolidate into the larger building by the end of November 2019.
"The new factory is also very close to the previous factory and will have minimum impact on our employees' commutes while keeping us near our key local suppliers," he said.
Incoe has been expanding around the world, including a new European headquarters in Germany in 2014, and a new technical service center in Mexico in 2018. Incoe also opened a new global headquarters in Auburn Hills in the fall of 2018, investing more than $20 million to build a 138,000-square-foot building that replaced several smaller facilities in nearby Troy, Mich.
Family-owned Incoe was founded in 1958.
