A well-known name in quality and process control for the plastics bottle industry has a new owner.
Agr International Inc., known for the equipment used in both plastic and glass beverage packaging, is being acquired by Indicor LLC.
Charlotte, N.C.-based Indicor, prior to the latest deal, owned 15 companies providing equipment and products serving a variety of different industries, including plastics.
Agr of Butler, Pa., located about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh, now joins Dynisco, a maker of pressure and temperature measurement and control products for plastics extrusion, in Indicor's portfolio of companies.
"Agr is a terrific business with clear niche market leadership, mission-critical solutions, deep customer intimacy, and a commitment to supporting their customers' quality and sustainability needs," Indicor CEO Doug Wright said in a statement. "This acquisition demonstrates Indicor's disciplined capital deployment strategy of partnering with high-quality, leading businesses that compound Indicor's long-term financial returns."
Current management at Agr will continue to operate that business from Butler.
"Agr's name, brands and operational footprint will not change as a result of the transaction," the new owner said in announcing the acquisition. Agr President Sudha Jebadurai will lead the business.
Agr's business dates back 95 years and includes quality and process control equipment that inspects, tests and measures plastic and glass containers.
Indicor was formed in early 2023 following the sale of a majority stake in a portfolio of industrial businesses to private equity firm Clayton, Dubilier & Rice by Roper Technologies Inc. in November 2022.
Agr will exhibit in the Bottle Zone at NPE 2024, in Booth S12048.
