Manufacturing investor New Pendulum Corp. has acquired Bardot Plastics Inc., a custom injection molder in Easton, Pa., for an undisclosed price.
It's the 14th acquisition in New Pendulum's 38-year history and its first since August 2023, when it acquired rotational molder MasonWays Plastics LLC of West Palm Beach, Fla.
Bardot Plastics was founded in 1973. In a news release, New Pendulum President and CEO Clark Staplefeld said Bardot "has built an excellent reputation with its customers, and much of that stems from the founding beliefs instilled by Lee Boucher, and the continued stewardship by the Boucher family."
He added the acquisition "is an excellent example of our investment philosophy, not only from an operational standpoint, but also in terms of cultural fit and how we choose to do business."
Officials said acquiring Bardot "further solidifies [New Pendulum's] expansion across the spectrum of plastics manufacturing processes," with capabilities now ranging from melt-blown nonwoven production to rotational molding and injection molding.
"Our portfolio approach has been one of logical, diligent expansion to create as much benefit as possible," Mark Woytowich, strategic innovation vice president, said.
"Specifically … we are adding a key component to our plastics manufacturing capabilities, one we believe will pay significant dividends across all of our operations," he added.
Bardot specializes in custom injection molding of commodity and engineered resins. Officials said the firm blends leading-edge engineering and high-volume production capabilities with "a deep commitment to quality."
Bardot has $10 million in annual sales, according to Plastics News ranking data on North American injection molders.
New Pendulum still owns 13 of its acquisitions, which officials said is "proof of an acquisition strategy centered on long-term growth and profitability." New Pendulum also owns rotational molder Interpak Inc., which operates a 76,000-square-foot plant in Mentor, Ohio. New Pendulum's 13 companies employ a total of more than 800.
