MKS Plastics LLC plans to double the size of its industrial pail-making plant in Tickfaw, La., a village 50 miles east of Baton Rouge.
The $14 million, 48,000-square-foot expansion is expected to create 20 direct jobs and retain 82, according to a recent news release from Louisiana Economic Development.
The company will add 14 injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment, and the project will add a rail spur to the site, the news release said.
The company did not respond to Plastics News' requests for information about the equipment or when MKS would begin construction. Louisiana development officials, however, said in the news release that the company expects to complete the addition and begin production by the end of next year.
MKS makes high density polyethylene pails in various sizes from 2 gallons to 20 liters for the petroleum and chemical industries.
