Plastics processor Spartech LLC has named John Inks as its new CEO.
Inks has been with St. Louis-based Spartech for 13 years, including during the time the business was part of PolyOne Corp. Spartech has been a separate company since 2017.
Prior to being named CEO, Inks had been Spartech's chief operating officer. In that role, he "demonstrated exceptional leadership, while at the same time driving improvements in a collaborative manner across operations including safety, quality, service, supply chain, sourcing and profitability through operational excellence," Chairman John Manzi said in an Oct. 14 news release.
Inks also has had finance, operations and commercial excellence positions at Spartech. He'll continue to be based in Pittsburgh. Inks holds degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University.
Spartech was No. 24 in the most recent Plastics News ranking of North American film and sheet manufacturers, with sales of $400 million. The company also ranked No. 42 in the current listing of North American thermoformers, with estimated sales of $41 million.
The firm operates 14 U.S. plants and serves end markets including food packaging, aerospace and automotive.
