An Israeli manufacturer of robotic in-mold labeling systems for injection molding and blow molding, BOS Imdecol, has opened a North American sales and technical support office in Dallas.
B.O.S. Better Online Solutions Ltd. (BOS Group), an Israeli integrator of RFID and mobile products and supply chain solutions that is traded on Nasdaq, purchased the assets of Imedcol Ltd. in mid-2019. Benny Katz, a mechanical engineer, founded the robotic systems maker Imdecol in 1998.
"It's an experienced company, just not that well-known in North America," Carter Ash, North American sales manager, said. The company has sold IML systems in North America since 2012. "But we don't have a lot of systems here and it was all handled remotely from Israel," he said.
That should change with the BOS Imdecol operation in Dallas, he said. In addition to Ash, the office has two technical support engineers and a marketing director.
Eyal Cohen, BOS Imdecol's CEO, said the company is active internationally.
"We believe that, with more than 670 global installations of our IML robots, we are well-positioned to more aggressively market our capabilities to North American manufacturers, who we are targeting as our primary market for IML robots," Cohen said.
Ash said the company manufactures the equipment in Israel, including high-speed robots for labeling and part takeout, and end-of-arm tooling.
Ash has more than 20 years of experience in plastics sales and marketing positions, much of it in drinkware packaging, including at processors that do in-mold labeling. His experience includes work at packaging manufacturers Dynamic Drinkware LLC, Airlite Plastics Co., Magenta LLC, Thermoserv-Aladdin and RPC Group plc.
